Purpose: This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of renewable energy projects by leading the origination, negotiation, and execution of offtake transactions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving commercialization efforts and securing investment approval for these projects.
Reports to: SVP, Development & Origination
Location: Los Angeles, CA/ Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
Spearhead the origination process for power purchase agreements, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of PPA valuation.
Manage the end-to-end PPA acquisition process, from origination and due diligence to negotiation and final execution.
Analyze PPA documentation to facilitate negotiations with potential customers/partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives and legal requirements.
Develop tailored proposals and marketing materials using PowerPoint and MS Word to showcase offtake opportunities to prospective clients.
Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Translating customer needs and requirements into viable, profitable solutions
Stay abreast of market developments and trends to inform decision-making.
Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, both domestically and internationally.
Preferred skills, experience and background:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for candidates holding a master’s degree.
At least 3 years’ experience in U.S. renewable power origination.
Self-motivated individual with a robust commercial background and a deep understanding of U.S. electricity markets and PPA valuation.
Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 20% Bonus (May vary depending on the knowledge, skills and experience)
