DCL is a custom manufacturer of architectural products, including signage and other specialty elements with offices in Boston, New York and Orlando.
DCL is currently seeking a motivated, high-energy individual to join our team in Orlando.
The Shop Helper assists with any and all daily tasks as needed by the fabrication department. The Shop Helper is also responsible for receiving and procurement related duties with oversight from the Production Manager. The position has the unique opportunity to learn this very special industry and grow within the company.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Overall Shop Upkeep – Sweeping Floors, emptying trash and recycling containers, supporting fabrication teams to keep the shop tidy and organized.
- Supply and material distribution and organization
- Offload deliveries from Freight, FedEx, and UPS
- Deliveries/pickups of materials and products at vendors/subcontractors/retail outlets
- Light janitorial duties
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly
- A willingness to take on new responsibilities as assigned
- High mechanical aptitude and previous maintenance experience
- Fabrication shop experience preferred
- Light carpentry experience a plus
- Good communication and time management skills;
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment effectively
- A sense of humor
