DDL, Inc. is seeking a motivated and driven Sales Engineer to join our Packaging team! As a Packaging Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and building strong relationships with our valued customers. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position has a starting base salary range of $75,000 -$110,000 (based on experience) with potential to earn a total compensation of $140K - $150K at target plus comprehensive benefits package.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities) :
As a Packaging Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for commercially and technically supporting customer opportunities to meet the sales and revenue goals. The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing the scope of testing and the quotation. Maintenance and growth of a sales pipeline via leads and prospecting is required. The focused markets are medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, dental, diagnostics and some consumer products. The Packaging Sales Engineer will be required to manage their respective territory within DDL’s policies, standards and expectations.
DDL’s target customers for our Packaging services are medical devices and biopharmaceuticals companies.
- Sell and promote DDL’s Packaging testing services leveraging technical knowledge to successfully achieve sales bookings and revenue goals.
- Plan and prospect new sales opportunities and new client account outreach within assigned territory.
- Engage customers and their management to position DDL services and convince them of the value we offer and how we can save time / money while achieving regulatory approval
- Attend and present at external customer meetings, tradeshows, conferences and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties.
- Monitor and report on market dynamics, testing trends and competitor activities to provide relevant insights and recommendations to DDL leadership.
- Manages a sales pipeline (i.e. records of leads, opportunities, sales, and customer information) effectively within Salesforce (CRM) according to Director of Sales & Marketing’s expectations.
- Train to be conversational in other testing services to cross sell / refer opportunities to other DDL divisions i.e. Product & Materials and Container Closure Integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Aid Business Development / Field Sales regarding technical and quotation support for opportunities they have discovered and qualified.
