What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at De La O Law Firm?
Overview
I am seeking a dependable receptionist to join my team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for my practice, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. You must have great communication skills, i.e. confidence in speaking to people, great listening skills, ability to show empathy but at the same time control the conversation and get the prospective clients signed up for a consultation. You must also be able to handle and manage challenging situations that arise with clients or prospective clients. This is not just a point and click kind of job. You will be required to interact and build relations with prospective clients and clients. You will also be required to learn the area of law I practice (landlord-tenant law) in order to understand what I do and what services I offer and provide. I would prefer a candidate who is interested in the law and learning more about the law.
I have a small practice, but it is quickly growing. I am looking for someone interested in growing with the firm. My firm is virtual, meaning that I do not have a brick and mortar location. Me and my paralegal work from my home office where you will be required to work as well. It is not the usual office setting, but it is a professional setting. I will have an office space eventually as I continue to expand the practice. If working in this kind of environment is uncomfortable for you, I understand. This position is not for you.
I require that you be punctual and dependable. I am located in the Museum District area of Houston near downtown. If this location is too far from you, please do not apply. The hourly pay is $14.00/hr for 32 hours per week, i.e., M-Th 9am-5pm. If these hours do not work for you, please do not apply. There are no benefits for now. And you will be responsible for paying your own taxes. I prefer someone who is bilingual (and has a good understanding of legal terminology in Spanish). If you believe you are the ideal candidate, I look forward to our interview.
