Job Summary:
The Radiology Patient Assistant performs various patient care activities and related support services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of all Radiology Patients. The radiology patient assistant also provides assistance to the professional staff and works under the direction of the registered technologist or registered nurse. In addition, the Radiology patient assistant III will assist with MRI and remote MRI operations. The radiology patient assistant III will provide assistance to MRI Technologists, Radiologists and/or administrative staff to provide optimal MRI safety and patient care. They will convey patient history to the MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety, assist MRI Technologists to ensure MRI safety, coil positioning, patient screening and/or history and patient observation during exams. Clerical duties include schedule maintenance, exam verification, patient medical records, routing documents and other tasks as assigned. MRI safety is the top priority and responsibility of the radiology patient assistant III
