What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Associate position at Dealers Warehouse Corporation?
Dealers Warehouse Corporation is a wholesale building supply distributor that sells materials to retail building supply dealers and original equipment manufacturers. Dealers is looking for a dependable, hard-working person to fill a warehouse general laborer position on our Door Assembly Line.
Scheduled hours for this position are 8:00am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday, as well as to be on-call on weekends. Employees are expected to work overtime depending on production demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not are limited to, maintain the premises of Dealers Warehouse Corporation’s office and warehouse buildings in a clean, orderly, and safe condition by performing the following:
· To assist in creating, documenting, adhering to, and keeping up-to-date a system of building maintenance addressing all areas of building maintenance needs;
· To assist in creating, documenting, adhering to, and keeping up-to-date all machine maintenance logs and schedules;
· To clean air vents and replace filters periodically;
· To be the primary contact for all third-party companies regarding building maintenance;
· To clean and repair light fixtures and replace light bulbs when needed;
· To keep cut grasses, trees, bushes, and other foliage around building and fences to ensure all entrances, exits, roads, and safety systems are accessible and easy to use;
· To repair, maintain, and transport all machinery;
· To schedule, coordinate, and work alongside all third-party companies performing repairs, inspections, and maintenance to sprinkler systems, fire prevention systems, fire alarm systems, and any other safety systems;
· To report all maintenance/inspection/repair logs to the Risk & Safety Manager;
· To collaborate with the Risk & Safety Manager on all safety-related matters, including inspections, repairs, and OSHA compliance;
· To communicate all maintenance schedules with area coordinators and department supervisors to prevent unexpected delays or changes in warehouse operations;
· To communicate and work professionally alongside all area coordinators and department supervisors when repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment;
· To read, write, and communicate proficiently;
· To adhere to all company and safety policies, including wearing all required PPE;
· To wear proper work attire, including close-toed shoes safety vests at all times while moving about the warehouse;
· To report any company and safety policy violations/concerns, work-related injuries or incidents, and workplace discrimination to supervisor or Human Resources Department;
· To work normal operating hours, including overtime when necessary; and
· To perform any other duties required to complete assigned tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Education/Experience. A high school education/GED; and prior experience or training, including a degree or certification in building maintenance or related area of study.
· Skills. An ability to read, write, and communicate professionals; To add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; To read and interpret a measuring tape; To use reason and logic to carry out detailed written and oral instructions; To communicate maintenance needs with area coordinators, department supervisors, and all other employees;
A strong understanding of Dealers’ machinery and equipment, production methods, manufacturing and operation schedules and timelines, and Microsoft Word and Excel;
A good relationship with third-party repair, inspection and maintenance companies and agencies.
· Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations. All applicants must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
· Physical Demands. Employees are regularly required to do the following for:
o Employees are regularly required to: stand, walk, use hand and power tools, lift and move materials between 5 and 50 lbs., and work and communicate effectively with other employees.
o Employees are occasionally required to: climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or bend at the waist, lift and move materials up to 100 lbs.
o Required specific vision abilities include: close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
