What You’ll Do
As a Lead Adventure Camp Specialist, you’ll create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for campers while leading biking and skateboarding activities. Your responsibilities include:
- Instructing campers (ages 4-15) in biking and/or skateboarding
- Ensuring safety by enforcing helmet and protective gear use
- Maintaining equipment, performing basic skateboard and bike adjustments (training provided)
- Organizing supplies and inventory to meet program needs
- Providing mentorship to junior counselors and campers
- Handling emergencies with quick problem-solving
- Experience or strong interest in biking, skateboarding, obstacle courses, or outdoor sports
- At least 1 year of experience working with kids (camps, teaching, coaching, babysitting, etc.)
- Problem-solving mindset—you're adaptable and resourceful when plans change
- Strong leadership & communication skills—you inspire, engage, and guide campers and staff
- Tech-savviness (Google Workspace, Slack, etc.)
- Ability to meet physical demands (reasonable accommodations available)
- June–August (exact dates vary by location)
- Monday–Friday, 36–40 hours per week
- Must be fully vaccinated and up to date on all immunizations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, respond quickly to emergencies, and work in an active, outdoor environment
- First Aid & CPR certification required (training reimbursement provided)
- Paid training (18–20 hours, including leadership, classroom management, and DEI)
- All required background checks and certifications fully reimbursed
- Summer Commitment Bonus: Earn an additional $50 per week for working six or more weeks with no absences
