What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at Dean Construction LLC?
Duties Include
- Perform various labor tasks related to heavy construction operations
- Safely guide vehicles and equipment operating in reverse to ensure no accidents occur
- Coordinate vehicle and equipment into and around the work site, as directed
- Properly use and care for power tools
- Properly use and care of hand tools
- Proactively communicate with company personnel concerning equipment and job-related projects or problems
- Work in trenches or other confined spaces
- Maintain orderly job sites by performing general housekeeping duties
- Assist Lowboy driver with proper loading and unloading tiedown procedures
- Wear personal protective equipment on site
- Work in a safe manner around heavy equipment
- Working more than 40 hours per week as needed
- Working nights and weekends as needed
- Out of town travel may be required
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Ability to:
- Recognize problems or errors at a work site
- Be on time, reliable and dependable with the work schedule
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Take and follow instructions
- Work under direct and indirect supervision
- Safely walk and climb through uneven terrain
- Work with fuel and other petroleum products
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Push a force of 80 pounds
- Pull a force of 150 pounds
- Walk, work, bend, lift, and stand on uneven terrain for extended periods of time
- Shovel and use other hand tools
- Work in a shop or field environment and tolerate exposure to dust, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, hot/cold temperatures, extreme/inclement weather, vibrations, noise and compact spaces
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid drivers license for the state in which you reside
Education:
- High school graduate preferred
Experience:
- Prefer some prior experience in a construction related field
