Dean's Professional Services is now hiring a qualified MRI Specialist to work for a Hospital Facility in Austin, TX.

The MRI Specialist is responsible for performing MRI scans, maintaining proper inventory and equipment, ensuring patient safety, and delivering exceptional service to both patients and staff.

Job Duties :

  • Ensure the MRI room is fully stocked and prepared for daily operations, maintaining inventory according to par levels and updating supply lists when necessary.
  • Verify patient identity using approved identifiers before conducting procedures.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and appropriately prepare patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Confirm pregnancy status and ensure informed consent is obtained from patients.
  • Assess factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medication contraindications, risk of reactions, medical history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation, or artifacts.
  • Based on the physician's order, determine the appropriate type and dosage of contrast agents, considering the patient's age, weight, and medical / physical status.
  • Anticipate and address patient needs throughout the MRI exam process.
  • Ensure that all non-MRI personnel are properly screened before entering MRI zones III & IV.
  • Troubleshoot and operate MRI equipment, including automated processors, film digitization equipment, R.I.S., and PACS.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Independently perform MRI scans according to established protocols.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Operate basic office equipment, such as fax machines, as needed.

Job Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in MRI.
  • Bilingual - Preferred
  • Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program. - Required
  • MR-ARRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).- Required
  • R-ARRT (Radiography) certification through the ARRT.- Required
  • CMRT (Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist) certification through the Texas Medical Board.- Required
  • In-depth knowledge of MRI physics and procedures, with the ability to apply developmentally appropriate practices for patients of all ages.
  • Proficient in the operation of MRI equipment and related systems (including troubleshooting and ensuring proper function).
  • Strong understanding of basic life support, medical terminology, and professional competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact courteously and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to established protocols and patient safety guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Job Details :

  • Schedule / Shift : Friday 8 : 30-5p, Saturday 7a- 7 : 30p, Sunday 7a- 7 : 30p, Monday 8 : 30a- 5p
  • Pay $60 / Hr. (based on experience) benefits.
