About the Role:
Blue Dog Hospitality is hiring a seasonal Operations Manager to oversee Captain Obadiah's Seafood Market. As an Operations Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our establishment. This role is the senior management role for the venue and reports directly to our VP of Operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all aspects of our operations including employee staffing and onboarding, training, performance, team management, workplace safety and cost control. By effectively managing our venue, you will contribute to the overall success and profitability of our business. Your ability to lead and motivate a team, while implementing cost reduction strategies and maintaining high standards of quality, will be key to achieving our operational goals. Captain Obadiah's is a seasonal venue open from May 16th - Sept 28th.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the Food Services industry.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cost control and budget management.
- Experience with implementing and managing quality control systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management software and other relevant tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Manage and supervise a team of employees, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure workplace safety by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular inspections.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall operational effectiveness.
Skills:
In this role, your skills in operations management, employee performance, team management, workplace safety, warehouse operations, manufacturing operations, people management, cost control, and cost reduction will be put to use on a daily basis. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire operational process, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Additionally, your knowledge of workplace safety regulations will be crucial in maintaining a safe working environment. You will also utilize your skills in warehouse operations and manufacturing processes to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment.
