We're looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join our People Team. With over 150 locations, we will continue to experience rapid expansion over the next 3-5 years. Responsibilities
The HR Specialist will be directly responsible for managing a variety of employee related processes and activities, HR analytics and reporting, data integrity and HR compliance, HR process and system improvements, employee relations investigations, and employee retention and engagement activities:
New Hires & Onboarding
- Enter new hires into ADP, initiate and monitor onboarding tasks, ensure I-9 E-verify requirements are completed in timely manner, partner with Talent Acquisition on start date changes to ensure smooth day one for all new hires
- Troubleshoot new hire onboarding issues with ADP, coordinating with vendor and/or other internal departments as required
- Request new and replacement building access badges
- Assist in facilitating new hire orientation meetings
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Process weekly / monthly HR reports to internal functional stakeholders including turnover and ad hoc reporting as requested
- Provide external reporting as needed, including suppliers, vendors, and state and federal regulatory agencies as required
- Create new reports as needs are identified
- Contribute analysis and insight into a variety of HR-related issues and opportunities
- Strong focus on data integrity and process standardization
Employee Relations
- Investigate tier 1 employee relations issues, ensuring fair, thorough and timely resolution of issues
- Manage ethics and integrity hotline
- Responsible for responding to all employee questions and requests in the HR resource mailbox, escalating as appropriate
- Collaborate with leaders and other internal stakeholders as necessary to ensure actions recommended as a result of investigative outcomes are implemented and are appropriately documented
- Respond to state and federal requests for information, unemployment compensation claims, and verification of employment requests in a timely manner
Engagement & Retention
- Collaborate with internal/external partners to plan and host employee engagement events
Process Improvement
- Recommend improvements or new processes/procedures that will increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness of HR-related programs
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an HR coordinator or HRG role
Preferred:
- Experience working in a high-volume hourly workforce environment
- Ability to work with minimal guidance in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills - looking beyond the obvious to identify root cause and effectively resolve issues efficiently and in a compliant manner
- Strong project management skills - ability to plan and be accountable for completing multiple projects simultaneously within established deadlines
- Strong grasp of data reporting and analytics techniques; ability to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Curious, innovative mindset; resilient and adaptable to change and open to new ideas
- Responsive, detail-oriented and extremely organized, with commitment to follow items to closure
- Experience managing employee relations investigations
- Experience working in an HRMS system to input new hires, facilitate timely onboarding and E-verify tasks
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims, drug testing, verification of employment, DOL/EEO reporting, internal audit and data integrity reviews a plus
- Strong business and financial acumen – ability to understand and anticipate impacts of HR processes and initiatives to business strategy/outcomes
- PHR or equivalent certification a plus
