Located in Anoka, MN we work with licensors and brands to produce, sell and distribute our products to supermarkets, retail bakeries, and ice cream stores throughout North America.
Summary :
The 2nd Shift Team Lead is responsible for coordinating flow of work within the warehouse shipping operations. Overall responsibilities are designed around achieving 100% customer satisfaction by continuously improving on-time order processing as well as promoting continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities :
- Manage standard work by participating in resolving questions, problems or concerns about activities.
- Monitor ship date schedules and deadlines to support on time deliveries.
- Make suggestions and incorporate changes to improve the workflow in the assigned area.
- Provide Supervisor with input concerning employee performance, quality, and workflow issues.
- Work with Material Handlers to manage point-of-use inventory and Kanban processes.
- Develop problem solving skills and assist in maintaining a high standard of quality for the assigned area, including checking work.
- Participate on cross departmental process improvement projects.
- Assist co-workers in the area with introducing and maintaining best practices on the floor including The 5 Whys, 5S and Root Cause analysis.
- Participate in LEAN training and promote LEAN department participation.
- Train and assist co-workers to best use the computer tools (Scanners / i5) for most effective performance and tracking daily rework problems.
- Ensure employees in area of responsibility are sufficiently trained to perform assigned work.
- Assist Supervisor with coaching employees on daily work habits, following work procedures, quality issues, and correcting mistakes.
- Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe condition to supervisor or Safety committee member.
- May perform cycle counting to ensure accurate account of material in the area.
- Assist Supervisor in assessing the temporary work staff and make recommendations.
- Must work well with others.
- Report any food safety concerns to Supervisor for resolution, including a food package that is open to the food for any reason.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
