Job Summary
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization. Duties
- Oversee activities directly related to providing Warehouse and trucking services.
- Direct and coordinate the operating activities of businesses or departments concerned with product production, pricing, sales, and distribution.
- Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
- Review activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Direct and coordinate operations and budget activities to increase efficiency.
- Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with organization’s chain of command members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary.
- Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire, and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
- Assist in determining services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.
- Manage the movement of goods into and out of warehouse facilities.
- Locate, select, and procure merchandise supplies, representing management in purchase negotiations.
- Perform sales work such as greeting and assisting customers, attending meetings
- Develop and implement product handling strategies, including efficiency improvement campaigns and engineering controls.
- Plan and direct operating activities such as projects, coordinating with other department heads as required.
- Plan facility layouts and layout design changes to maximize space utilization.
