What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Administrator position at Dedicated Logistics, Inc?
The Safety Administrator works in conjunction with safety leadership and all levels of the organization to assure compliance is met with federal, state and local regulations across the TLI platform. This candidate promotes a safe and healthy culture through training and coaching on safety practices and thrives on providing a work environment that achieves or exceeds the needs and expectations of our Driver force.
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work in conjunction with Safety Specialist as the company drug and alcohol program designated employee representative (DER)
- Responsible for creating and processing new hire driver qualification (DQ) files o Enter drivers into system and provide sign on access to business modules
- Responsible for driver qualification file maintenance o Expirations due—i.e. annual MVR’s driver’s license, clearinghouse, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining temporary employee files
- Oversees verification of employment (VOE) process
- Responsible for all “hours-of-service” training and compliance o Identify HOS violations and ensure proper follow through with (or in partnership with) local leadership
- Conduct new hire orientation safety training (Mondays &Tuesdays)
- Oversee the Company’s Boot Voucher Program
- Manage Passenger Authorization process
- Knowledge and clear understanding of roadside inspection process
- Utilize and access data within the Federal Safety Management System and Data Q activity
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with new drivers and DLI associates company wide
- Answer safety line and provide assistance to callers
- Assist with appointment scheduling including physicals and self-certifications
- Ability to provide on-call night and weekend coverage on a rotational basis
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Familiarity with FMCSA and OSHA regulations preferred
- Effectively copes with change and is energized by tough challenges
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and timely decision-making under high pressure situations
- Solid customer service skills (phone, business etiquette, handling volatile situations)
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written)
- Quick learner, strong work ethic, adheres to work hour policies, completes work requirements daily
- PC proficient with the ability to navigate multifaceted internal databases
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
