We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with experience in litigation to support our attorneys in all aspects of case preparation, trial work, and client management. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our litigation team and requires strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in managing all phases of litigation, including case filing, discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial tasks.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Manage and organize case files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are filed appropriately and accessible.
- Coordinate and schedule court filings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings.
- Conduct basic legal research and compile case-related information as directed by attorneys.
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and other trial materials, ensuring readiness for court.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case matters, scheduling, and updates.
- Monitor and manage deadlines, including calendaring critical dates and ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Assist in billing and tracking attorney hours related to litigation tasks.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing emails, handling phone calls, and maintaining schedules.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role in a litigation-focused law firm.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, court rules, and trial preparation.
- Proficiency in legal software and tools, such as case management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and e-filing systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and managing legal documents.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures relevant to litigation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
