Environmental Science & Sustainability Intern, Summer '25

POSITION SUMMARY – Position involving various duties that permit exposure to the student’s field of study and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student’s education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment. Responsible for assisting with daily functions of the department as assigned by the manager. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Learn internal operations related to field of internship Provide general assistance and support within department Report progress to immediate supervisor throughout length of internship Apply current education to identify areas for improvement and possible solutions Make suggestions to leadership for streamlining systems and processes Independently manage workload of project(s) assigned Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to take direction from immediate supervisor Ability to adapt to work environment and perform versatile tasks Ability to work with minimal supervision Determination to meet deadlines Maintain confidentiality when applicable   POSITION QUALIFICATIONS   Education: Pursuing a degree in related field Experience: No experience necessary; general knowledge of the field preferred Computer Skills:  Must demonstrate computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office Certificates & Licenses: Other Requirements:
