Who We’re Looking For
We want to attract a high-caliber candidate — someone who:
- Is either a top-performing recent college grad (think: marketing, communications, design, or related field) with an impressive portfolio, OR a social media professional with 1-3 years of real-world experience managing social media for brands.
- Is polished, professional, and comfortable representing our team at client events, expos, and trade shows.
- Has a strong eye for design — from curated Instagram feeds to elevated reels and Stories, your work needs to stand out and capture attention.
- Has exceptional executive functioning and organizational skills — managing multiple projects, deadlines, and content calendars across different brands without letting anything slip.
- Understands that beautiful content is critical — sometimes you’ll have pro-level assets to work with, but sometimes you’ll need to shoot, edit, and create polished content on your own.
- Loves the outdoors and understands the unique aesthetic and voice of hunting, fishing, ranching, and outdoor brands.
- Is a confident, friendly presence at events, comfortable talking to clients, influencers, and vendors while representing our brand in a professional, approachable way.
- Is detail-obsessed — from ensuring captions are typo-free to optimizing every post for reach and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Own and execute content calendars across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube for both Deer Camp Digital and our clients.
- Content Creation: Create beautiful, on-brand content — including graphics, reels, and stories — that stops the scroll and reflects the high standards of outdoor lifestyle brands.
- Community Engagement: Manage DMs, comments, and community interactions to build loyal followings.
- Event Coverage: Attend client events, trade shows, and activations to capture content and represent Deer Camp Digital professionally.
- Process & Calendar Management: Stay ahead of deadlines, track content approvals, and proactively plan content based on seasonal and brand-specific trends.
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients and our internal team to align on content strategies and deliver work that exceeds expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, design, or related field preferred — or equivalent real-world experience in a professional social media or content creation role.
- Strong portfolio of visually polished, engaging content (show us your Instagram, YouTube, or professional work — we want to see your design eye and storytelling skills).
- Event experience — either coordinating or attending events for content capture, client interaction, or promotions.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills — juggling content calendars, client requests, and real-time events without missing a beat.
- Proficiency in design tools like Canva (Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
- Comfortable in outdoor lifestyle spaces — understanding the culture, audience, and aesthetics of hunting, fishing, ranching, and outdoor brands is a must.
