Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking for a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a growing organization? Deer Oaks – The Behavioral Health Solution is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Position Summary:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of our Finance and Accounting Department. You will be responsible for providing accounting support across various functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and corporate card management. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to utilize software and applications such as Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of GAAP. This position will have a hybrid work schedule, pending the applicant’s location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and payments
- Maintaining vendor files, documents such as contracts or W9s, and filing 1099s
- Performing complex allocations and adjustments following established processes
- Files documentation and back-up for all transactions in accordance with policies
- Accounts receivable activities, including recording payments and adjusting invoices
- Prepare and post journal entries, including zero-balance and intercompany transactions.
- Assist in the month-end closing, including reconciling balance sheet and P&L accounts
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience with intercompany transactions and multiple entities
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments
- Ability to Multitask: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Contributes to a positive team culture
