POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide a variety of technology-related support duties related to district-wide operation of computer systems within parameters set by the Director of Technology or designee. The IT Technician assists as needed in the daily operation of the IT dept., providing assistance to staff and students at assigned district site(s), resolving technical problems, coordinating repair and installation of computers and peripherals.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide users with technical support in a friendly and professional manner, responding to the needs and questions of users concerning the use and functionality of both hardware and related software.
- Installation and maintenance of desktop, software applications, and peripherals.
- Install, upgrade, repair, troubleshoot, and configure PC and Chromebook hardware/software.
- Assist in maintaining equipment inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
- Provide remote and over the phone tech support to end users.
- Make recommendations to the Technology Department to improve and optimize systems, hardware, and support processes.
- Compose and/or present clear and concise written or oral reports as needed.
- Prioritize and execute a variety of complex duties with minimal supervision.
- Attend additional training as required to improve/update skills.
- General A/V support (classroom voice amplification, video, projector, and other multimedia applications)
- Follow district safety and security best practices and implement them when applicable.
- Respond to e-mail, voicemail, and work order requests quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to use a ladder and handheld power tools.
- Maintain consistent presence within the district sites and fulfill regular work hours as specified by the contract.
- Daily travel between sites using personal transportation.
- Assist the IT Specialists when needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in information systems/computer science related field OR two years work experience in a related field. (preferred)
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to complete tasks and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Must be customer service oriented and show commitment to customer service/communication.
- Experience working with operating systems Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace(including Gmail and Drive)
- Demonstrated ability to multitask when many needs require your attention at once.
- Demonstrated ability to assist staff in the use of various technical tools, address their concerns and coordinate school building technology, to include inventory management and asset tracking. (preferred)
- Established ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Possess a functional understanding of basic networking and cabling concepts.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Windows desktop support and troubleshooting (creation and distribution of group policies, workstation imaging, registry optimization). (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively as a team member and be able to project a positive, friendly attitude toward others.
- Valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record (applicant needs to provide the district a copy of his/her driving abstract.)
- Reliable transportation during the work day to travel between worksites.
- Hours of work: 7:00am - 3:30pm (some flexibility regarding hours)

Salary Range: $27.86- $33.09 per hour depending on experience.
Contract Year:260 Days per year ( Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM)
