PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Competition Services and Grounds Maintenance Assistant Manager assists the Competition Services and Grounds Maintenance manager with directing and coordinating daily operations and staffing requirements with race hill, event and Rossignol test center supervisors in the winter and with ground maintenance supervisors in the summer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with department plans, budgets, staff hiring/training, scheduling, Workday reporting, and daily operations
- Supervise the grounds maintenance, race hill, Rossignol test center, and event crews
- Assist mountain venue operations manager with OPEX proposals
- Work with DVR divisions and departments and outside vendors on contracting, scheduling, installing, and operating any special event that comes to DVR
- Ensure all grounds are de-winterized, revived, and aesthetically pleasing as soon after the winter season as possible
- Construct and maintain the concert venue
- Assist with the planting, maintenance, and weeding of all resort railing boxes, planters, and perennial beds
- Perform basic landscaping work (mowing, trimming, weeding, staining fences, etc.)
- Maintain and repair varying irrigation systems resort wide as needed
- Maintain and repair sidewalks, bridges and benches resort wide.
- Work with banquets and sales coordinators on the operational planning and setup of any wedding or special events
- Ensure all outdoor, parking lot, and dog waste garbage is removed continually
- Maintain and repair ski racks resort wide
- Work with group sales on the operational planning, setup, and execution of any special events at the Race Hill
- Perform daily accounting procedures and compile seasonal reports
- Ensure demo ski fleet is appropriate for DVR guests, in top condition, and maintained regularly to be a good representation of the Rossignol product and DVR’s level of guest service
- Ensure Freestyle World Cup field of play and the surrounding venue is compliant with FIS guidelines.
- Ensure all on mountain structures are maintained and repaired during the summer season
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience required
- Experienced with Alge racecourse timing and display and communication equipment set-up, maintenance, and repair
- Advanced alpine skiing ability required
- GS/SL and NASTAR course setting experience and venue operations knowledge
- Experienced with a wide range of landscaping equipment and procedures
- Proficient with hand & power tools for light to medium construction projects
