Job Summary:
Deerwood Country Club is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Racquets Sports Professional to join our dynamic team. Our members and their guests enjoy exceptional tennis and pickleball programming on the same courts played by tennis pros such as Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Margaret Court, and Billie Jean King. The Club features 12 Har-Tru® Tennis courts, all lit for night play, and 4 Pickleball courts. Join our team and assist our Director of Racquet Sports in the continued development and enhancement of our racquets program. This position pays a base salary plus lesson commission. Schedule will be variable based on business needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate weekly with the Director of Racquet Sports and Racquets Staff to plan, promote, and execute all programming.
- Assist in organizing game plans for clinics, private lessons, and Member games.
- Work with the Director of Racquet Sports and Staff to regularly engage and communicate with members to maximize participation in all areas of the program.
- Ensure that all Members and their guests receive courteous, prompt, and professional attention.
- Assist in operating all aspects of the operation and upholding facility standards.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Club’s courts and surface playability as requested.
- Jointly responsible for retention of existing participants and attracting new participants.
- Participate in the development of the Racquets annual events calendar.
- Enforce club policies and procedures both on and off the court.
Skills/Qualifications:
- USPTA or PTR Certified (or willing to attain)
- Highly motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic
- A customer-focused demeanor, and a passion for working with people
- Strong knowledge and experience in one or more racquet sports (e.g., tennis and pickleball)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively teach and interact with participants of all ages and skill levels
- Ability to demonstrate proper techniques and provide constructive feedback
- Full-time availability is required
