As a part of our growth, PGW Auto Glass, a leader in the Auto Glass industry with over 100 years’ experience, is looking for a dedicated and passionate High Rise Order Picker. The High-Rise Order Picker in the Distribution Warehouse is responsible for handling, storing, and distributing automotive glass products while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires operating a high-rise order picker (cherry picker forklift) to retrieve and stock inventory at elevated warehouse locations. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working at heights in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Safely operate high-rise order picker equipment to retrieve and restock automotive glass products stored at elevated locations.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments of automotive glass and related materials.
- Accurately pick, pack, and load customer orders from high storage locations.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure glass products are free from defects and meet company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and participate in cycle counts.
- Follow proper harness and fall protection procedures when working at elevated heights.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of products.
- Keep warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and properly storing materials.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and OSHA regulations related to aerial lift operation.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure efficient operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or damaged products immediately.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience operating high-rise order pickers, cherry pickers, or aerial lift equipment preferred.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience, especially handling fragile materials, is a plus.
- Comfortable working at heights of up to 20 feet or more while using safety harnesses.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and shipping/receiving documentation.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow established procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Frequent operation of high-rise order picker equipment requiring standing, balancing, and working at elevated heights.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Use of safety PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and a fall protection harness.
- Handling fragile automotive glass products, requiring precision and caution.
- Must be comfortable with working overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
