Position Summary:
Burrow Global, LLC is seeking talented Junior, Mid, and Senior Electrical Designers and I&E Designers to join our Beaumont, TX office. The successful candidates will play an integral role in the design, drafting, and development of electrical and instrumentation systems for various EPC projects, including Oil, Gas, and Chemical industries. Designers will create and review engineering drawings and packages, including electrical one-line diagrams, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and instrument drawings. This role involves working closely with engineers and project teams to ensure high-quality design deliverables and compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Independently create, modify, and review electrical and instrumentation design drawings, including one-line diagrams, cable schedules, layout drawings, and instrument drawings.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop design packages for clients, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
- Produce accurate and detailed drawings for electrical and instrumentation systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
- Assist in the preparation of electrical design calculations, load lists, equipment lists, and cable sizing for EPC projects.
- Review design work to ensure consistency with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE).
- Prepare and manage design documentation, including engineering sketches, schematics, and equipment configuration drawings.
- Participate in site evaluations to assess project requirements, ensuring that designs align with field conditions.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Support the development of procurement and construction packages, coordinating with vendors to ensure proper equipment and materials are selected and specified.
- Participate in project meetings, presenting design concepts and discussing design-related issues with clients and project teams.
- Adhere to company and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards and regulations.
- Follow company design and quality standards, ensuring designs are checked and approved according to established procedures.
Education and Qualifications:
Junior Designer:
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical or Instrumentation Design, or equivalent work experience.
- 0-3 years of experience in electrical design, with a preference for experience in the EPC industry.
- Proficient in design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation (knowledge of I&E design tools preferred).
- Familiarity with electrical design standards, codes (NEC, NEMA, IEEE), and industry best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications.
Mid-Level Designer:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Design, or equivalent technical certification.
- 3-7 years of experience in electrical and/or I&E design, with significant involvement in EPC projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, etc.).
- Experience with electrical equipment design, power distribution, grounding systems, and instrumentation layout.
- Knowledge of design standards and codes, including NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE.
- Ability to independently create, review, and modify design documents and drawings.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with engineering teams to ensure design integrity.
Senior Designer:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Design or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in electrical and I&E design, including significant experience in the EPC sector.
- Expertise in the use of design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation) for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
- Extensive experience with electrical and instrumentation design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, NFPA).
- Ability to mentor and supervise junior designers, providing technical guidance and design support.
- Experience in the preparation of engineering deliverables, including equipment lists, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
- Ability to independently manage design tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of project documents.
