Summary
The Electronics Engineering Technician is responsible for testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic products and equipment. The Electronics Engineering Technician is cross-trained on the assembly and repair of a range of DeFelsko components and devices, and aids in the completion of specialized assemblies.
Essential Functions
- Set up and calibration of gages and devices; maintain calibration of in-house test equipment and standards including calibration intervals, coordinating in-house and external lab calibration.
- Resolution of out-of-tolerance equipment and standards.
- Provide technical support to the production team; troubleshoot issues with electronic components and products; make necessary repairs.
- Request or produce parts needed to perform repairs and complete maintenance.
- Communicate with production manager and engineering to understand problems and to provide progress updates.
- Update work orders to reflect details and completion of repairs and assemblies.
- Conduct quality control checks on components and products.
- Observe and adhere to all safety practices and procedures.
- Maintain reliable, punctual attendance.
Competencies
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret instructions, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality work output
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Highly proficient in the use of hand tools for assembly tasks; steady-handed and able to manipulate small components
Education/Experience
- Associate degree in electronics or equivalent training
- Knowledgeable and familiar with hand assembly, mechanical assembly, & measuring tools
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in electronics and instrumentation
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience hand soldering electronics
