Electronics Technician

Monday - Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
$18 .00 - $22.00 DOE
A local company in Utica is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, with hands-on experience using lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscopes, etc.) and using different solder techniques and equipment. The Electronics Technician role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing circuit boards of different levels of complexity and test fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose test failures on circuit boards and electronic assemblies down to the component level.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instructions to identify faults and carry out our repairs.
- Repair circuit boards by either replacing defective SMT and/or through-hole components using appropriate soldering and desoldering techniques or performing trace and pad repairs to restore circuit continuity and functionality.
- Document and log repair activities and defects in company software
- Understanding of key electronics principles (voltage, current, resistance, charge, conductivity, AC vs DC, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand schematic drawings, engineering instructions and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using lab instruments (multimeter, power supply, etc.) for debugging and functionality checks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Good dexterity with soldering small (e.g., 30 gauge) wires, SMT components (down to 0402 size) on circuit boards under a microscope.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational skills and attention-to-detail, with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
- Capable computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Associate’s degree in electronic technology or equivalent military training.
- 0 – 2 years of experience troubleshooting circuit boards down to the component level.
- Training provided for the right candidate.
- Associate’s degree in electronic technology or equivalent military training with 2-4 years of experience.
Degree requirements can be substituted with equivalent years of on-the-job experience
