Duties

  • Researches, evaluates, designs, develops, maintains, and manages the security systems, alarms, and measures for protection of the organization's SCI facilities and programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements governing same.
  • Prepares detailed plans for installation, expansion, and modernization of existing SCI facilities, and systems to include intrusion detection, systems design, and access control.
  • Directs and controls the planning, development, and implementation and administration of physical security measures in SCIFs.
  • Conduct system audits and evaluate reports of alleged security violations.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This position requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Drug Testing Position.
  • This is a Mission Essential Position.
  • In accordance with DoD Manual 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification, this position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP).
  • Employee may subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience

To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Developing, implementing, integrating, applying, and managing a multi-faceted security program to include physical, personnel, information, industrial, and intelligence and IT security pertaining to SCI within the organization.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

  • This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, "DoD Security Accreditation and Certification" and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Upon appointment to this position selectees will have two years to meet the applicable SPeD certification requirements and will be required to sign a statement acknowledging the SFPC requirements and agreeing to permit the DoD to access and monitor the certification qualifications associated with this position.   • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
