Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC)

Serves as a Multi-language Department Chairperson for the Intermediate and Advanced (INT / ADV) Programs, in LREC-Operational Programs School, Continuing Education (CE) Directorate, Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC), teaching over 13 languages on a schedule extending throughout the year. Courses are taught six hours per day, five days a week, with the exception of federal holidays and training holidays.
This individual will supervise a multi-language team and manage the target language instruction programs including course scheduling and curriculum; act as a mentor to teachers; and guide language teams in adapting, supplementing, and updating instructional material and techniques as dictated by program objectives and students needs.
Ft. Huachuca is an Army installation located in Cochise County, in southeast Arizona, 15 minutes from a beautiful city of Sierra Vista. Established in 1877, Fort Huachuca has a rich frontier history, and as the largest economic contributors in Arizona, it is a hub of innovation and excellence.
Salary : $94,526 - $112,994 per year (The offered starting salary for this position is $94,526.00 and includes applicable locality pay.)
Relocation : May be authorized
Who May Apply : US Citizens and non-US Citizens with valid US Work Authorization. This position is a TERM time limited position tenure track. The initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 36 months, and may be extended upon mission, funding, and management discretion.
Qualification Requirements :
- Ph.D. or Masters in a related field.
- 4 years of experience in at least two areas : teaching, curriculum development, faculty development, testing, program management, research / evaluation, or academic support.
- Language proficiency : English (Level 2) and one additional language to be taught (Level 3).
