What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Specialist/Auditor position at Defining Wellness Centers LLC?
Defining Wellness Centers is an inpatient addiction treatment facility located in Brandon, MS and with IOP/PHP services in Ridgeland, MS. Experience with Medical Records in a Substance Abuse Treatment facility is preferred. Experience with Medical Records and auditing charts is required for this position, good knowledge of clinical charting and nursing charting is required.
The Medical Records Specialist/Auditor ensures the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of client records while managing and processing medical records requests. In addition to the medical records aspect of this role, the position will also be responsible for auditing charts/medical records of nursing staff and therapy staff to meet regulatory standards, fulfilling requests in accordance with HIPAA and other legal requirements, and collaborating with staff to maintain high-quality documentation practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and adept at balancing auditing tasks with timely processing of records requests.
The facility currently uses Sunwave (in the process of switching EMRs from KIPU) for the health record system. Experience with Sunwave is preferred. Experience with auditing nursing/therapy notes and medical records processes and requirement is also preferred.
