This position will support attorneys in personal injury and asbestos litigation, providing high-level case management and trial preparation assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case management, including organizing and maintaining litigation files.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and summarize findings.
- Prepare detailed medical summaries and chronologies.
- Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, and production.
- Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel as needed.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and witness materials.
- Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Paralegals are expected to have 120 billable hours per month
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
