Title : Coordinator II, Technology Innovation
The Technology Innovation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, integrating, and managing educational technologies that support the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the DeKalb County School District. This role involves evaluating and enhancing existing informational and instructional technologies, while also implementing innovative technology solutions to improve instructional practices. The coordinator will collaborate with regional Instructional Technology Specialists and various divisions within Curriculum and Instruction to promote the effective use of digital resources and activities aimed at improving student achievement. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with relevant state and federal regulations. The Technology Innovation Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of Information and Innovation and work in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer.
Essential Functions :
- Collaborate with Instructional Technology Specialists and other instructional staff to enhance the integration and utilization of the district-approved Learning Management System and other tools supported via Launchpad.
- Partner with Instructional Technology Specialists to deliver differentiated professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff through Ignite U.
- Lead the organization and facilitation of workshops, seminars, and training sessions for school staff to promote effective technology integration.
- Monitor the development of Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) curriculum materials and multidisciplinary lesson plans that incorporate technology to help students develop and strengthen their 21st-century skills.
- Assist Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) Coordinators in the creation of technology-driven learning resources that encourage technology integration and foster innovative teaching opportunities.
- Collaborate with school technology committees to identify instructional goals and objectives and develop long-term technology plans to achieve them.
- Assess teachers' and schools' technology proficiency to design and deliver tailored professional development programs based on identified needs and student data.
- Prepare, submit, and present comprehensive reports on educational technology initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Information and Innovation and / or the Chief Information Office
- Attend scheduled shifts during regular business hours, as mandated.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
