Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of a quality system compliant with ISO9001:2015 and other standards as appropriate. Accountable for identifying quality concerns, problem solving and change implementation utilizing Root Cause Analysis techniques while deploying corrective actions for process related concerns to assist in achieving situational goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure quality system compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other standards as appropriate.
• Identify, coordinate, and satisfy external customer quality requirements.
• Supervise PPAP / Annual Layout submissions compliant with customer guidelines for external customers.
• Assist quality manager with activities related to APQP, ensuring new products are delivered on time with the utmost quality.
• Ensure internal audits are conducted in a thorough and timely fashion in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Assist with implementation of new corporate and company policies as necessary.
• Ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for internal and external quality concerns and requests.
• Assist quality manager with implementation of process changes as applied to quality system.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.
• Responsible for Internal Quality Metrics, KPI Boards
• Generate SRR's ( Supplier Rejections Reports) as required
• Generate customer Return Material Authorization (RMA's) as required
• Generate customer credits in accounting database as required
• Supervise, train and develop subordinates as assigned.
• Conduct employee performance reviews as required
• Supervise, train and develop subordinates as assigned
• Oversee nonconforming material within plant specified locations
  
  

Knowledge And Skills

• Minimum of 5 years in quality function within a manufacturing facility
• Experience with ISO9001:2015 standard
• Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) preferred
• Experience with blueprint reading required
• Working knowledge of SPC Application
• Excellent Root Cause Analysis Skills required
• Excellent computer skills: Windows, Office, Vision, Project Management, Power Point, and internet.
