We are seeking a reliable and organized Shipping/Receiving Office Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of goods and ensuring smooth operations within our logistics department. The work schedule will be 7am - 3:30pm M-F. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and be capable of working independently and within a team.
- Responsible for coordinating the shipping and receiving functions, ensuring cost effective, efficient and safe transportation of all goods.
- Responsible for the handling of all materials received and shipped.
- Ensure all items received are appropriately handled same day receipt.
- Serves as primary contact for resolution of shipping issues.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding shipment status.
- Completes all necessary paperwork and computer related work.
- Maintains and organizes work area.
- Identify process improvements and recommends changes to increase quality and efficiency.
- Interacts with Customer Services/Sales to process orders, schedule shipments, resolves issues, etc.
- Deals with vendors, trucking lines, UPS, etc.
- Uses automated incoming system to record deliveries received.
- Inputs information into computer as necessary.
- Delivers materials as needed to operating departments, offices, areas, etc. in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Ensures that information is exchanged between dock and shipping/receiving office staff concerning all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Adhering to all forklift operation procedures discussed at the forklift operator’s qualification/certification and safety meetings.
- Ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Reporting quality variances to supervisor.
- Comply with safety regulations (OSHA and Company) and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of two years shipping office clerk experience.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Possesses the ability to effectively multi-task and perform various functions.
- Must possess exceptional computer/PC Skills. Highly proficient in Excel, WORD, and Microsoft Office.
- Must possess prior warehouse management system experience.
- Prior AS400 and SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must possess strong reading and math skills.
- 1 year experience operating forklift trucks strongly preferred.
- 2 years of manufacturing/warehouse experience required.
- Requires a high school diploma/GED (associate’s or technical certification preferred).
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
