Summary: The Shipping Assistant Manager is required to demonstrate leadership skills in the direction of traffic. The position is responsible for developing, maintaining and directing the company's shipping needs via outside carriers and with company truck to meet customers' delivery dates.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all shipping and logistics related activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments and on-time delivery
Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and mentor shipping employees
Analyze schedules, invoices, orders and other necessary information to determine shipping priorities and methods in order to meet shipping schedules and demands.
Manage resources for maximum efficiency and productivity to meet customer delivery requirements and work within budget requirements
Plan and execute new processes, procedures and best practices within the Shipping Departments
Drive continuous improvement in the shipping operations
Arrange and manage carriers coming for pick-ups to ensure on time pick-up and delivery
Manage Company truck to gain maximum profitability
Freight quoting for customers
Loading trucks as required
Crating and packaging material as needed to meets shipping requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Practical knowledge of logistics (shipping costs, negotiations techniques, technology etc.)
Strong analytical skills and ability to be forward thinking in planning and scheduling
Possess a high level of sense of urgency
Problem solving skills ability to think outside the box
Plan, coordinate and execute action plans
Excellent computer and communication skills
Ability to manage and develop others for growth and leadership opportunities

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
