Position Summary: Supervise all aspects of the warehouse operations of a small to mid-size 24 X 7 manufacturing facility. Oversight of the activities for associates in the pick, pack, and shipping operations and a Third-Party Logistics onsite vendor. Interacts with manufacturing operations and, sales/marketing functions to ensure full customer satisfaction. This position will facilitate the inbound and outbound distribution of our products to our customers in a timely and efficient manner while properly supervising associates to ensure full customer satisfaction.
Responsible for ensuring that all warehouse receiving functions are completed accurately and in a timely matter. Keeps records on all incoming shipments. Works in a professional manner that meets the company’s standard for housekeeping safety, security, and accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
- Coordinate all less than pallet orders for pick bay, turret, and handheld to ensure ship dates are met.
- Support the shipment of all goods produced.
- Indirect management of associates engaged in shipment of all orders and three (3) direct office support staff.
- Oversees pick bay operations to ensure that identifying information and counts, weighs, or measure of items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and/or ensure appropriate labeling requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain all Shipping Department procedures to ensure maximum order fulfillment utilizing efficient and cost-effective techniques.
- Ensure correct shipment of all orders and related paperwork.
- Resolve all pick bay errors to meet customer expectations.
- Prepare monthly (or as required) reports to management team.
- Responsible for always keeping an adequate supply of all shipping related materials on hand.
- With warehouse office staff, schedule and approve vacations and time off, or administer disciplinary action. Approve and process in a timely manner to payroll all necessary information to process payroll.
- Prepares and conducts performance appraisals and apply company policies.
- Receive all inventory items into the system.: Gathers and enters all data relative to receiving containers, outsourced material into AS/A400/SAP and I-Tile in a timely matter.
- Coordinate all inbound deliveries: Unload or coordinate with Lead forklift operator to have all inbound deliveries unloaded and verify material with packing slips. Deliver or coordinate all deliveries to departments. IE: Glaze, Maintenance, Office, etc.
- Coordinate with Sales/Customer Service/Crowder Tile all sample orders.: Communicate with all involved and monitor each step of the process until the samples are shipped to the customer.
- Monitor and maintain inventory sample inventory to ensure accuracy.: Regularly check physically and virtually at Crowder Warehouse 64, 20 adjust inventory and assist Crowder as needed.
- Coordinate & order warehouse supplies.: Develop procedure for ordering and maintaining min.-max. levels for all warehouse supplies. Keep storage areas for these items clean and organized.
- This position is also the designated Train the Trainer for P.I.T. Training certifications for all associates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supplemental Job Functions:
- Ensure Good Housekeeping and cleanliness in the factory.
- Conduct physical inventories as required.
- Operate forklift to load/unload trucks as needed.
- Performs additional duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- A.S. or B.S. degree in related field preferred. (High School or GED diploma required)
- Minimum 5 years related experience required; Supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
- Must be familiar with all shipping related paperwork to include, but not limited to, bills of lading, packing slips, etc.
- Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids to convey specific packaging requirements.
- Must be capable of estimating weight and use that information to calculate shipping costs.
- Experience with developing, implementing, and documenting procedures.
- Must be computer proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be proficient with UPS/FedEx on-line software.
- PC Skills proficient to input data as required.
- Familiar with Excel, Word, and AS/A400 and/or SAP.
- Familiarity with automated scanning systems, etc.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weights as necessary at times.
