Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide impactful, connective services to prospective and current students both on and off campus in support of DMC3, a federally funded Title V grant. This position will help students make the transition to the college environment, support, and advise students during their college experience, and help students with the transfer process to the university level or into the workforce. This position will work closely to support the current and future needs of developmental education for the institution.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
One (1) year of related experience providing student services in higher education.

Knowledgeable in advising traditional, non-traditional aged, developmental, and at-risk students in a higher education setting.

Meet with students to explain and evaluate admissions processes, to include assessment of test scores and support documentation.

Identify the appropriate educational and career options; assist with the analysis of each option including possible outcomes and implications.
Establish academic and career goals.
Advise students of appropriate placement and coursework and maintain regular contact with students throughout the semester.
Establish an action plan for students to explore alternative careers and related programs.
Assist in registering for courses and identify options for students to satisfy degree requirements.
Utilize case management principles of advocacy, assessment, and service facilitation to advance the achievement of goals and link students with appropriate resources.
Utilize available and appropriate technology to monitor academic progress of students toward degree completion.
Monitor caseloads to ensure that students are making adequate progress.
Utilize technology tools to contact students regarding milestones.
Document ongoing case management activities and pertinent student information and status updates.
Compile data of advising activities by maintaining service records; maintain telephone inquiries.

Collaborate with other DMC3 staff to ensure project goals, objectives, and timelines are on track.

Work closely with DMC3 project director to assist in preparation of annual performance reporting to the U.S. Department of Education.
