What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Foreman position at Del Mar Vacations?
JOB SUMMARY
Do you have excellent home maintenance and property management skills? Support the property management team at Del Mar Vacations by ensuring our 350 homes are well cared for and maintained by leading the Maintenance team to success. You will manage our maintenance team in the field through hands-on expertise across a range of common maintenance and construction/remodeling skills. It is critical for this role to have competencies in problem solving, sound judgment, and leadership. An ideal candidate will be professional when contributing to a 5-Star experience when customer facing, and also, when working amongst and managing their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The day-to-day varies and is never boring - you’ll use a range of handyman, repair, and maintenance skills to solve issues for guests and homeowners. You must have knowledge of operations, tools and terms used in home/building maintenance and repair work, practice and teach others about safe work practices, and safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools. We expect you to monitor and evaluate billable work with a working knowledge of quoting jobs, project management, time management, and coaching skills. We expect that you know how to consistently and independently troubleshoot all of the items on the with minimal call backs or escalations to vendors.
The role must be able to:
- Troubleshoot all of the items on the with nearly zero callbacks.
- Perform skilled work involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
- Provide support in estimating and quoting (including meeting with homeowners)
- Be an on-site team lead for various projects when necessary
- Execute quality control on small projects, making adjustments as needed on the job without escalations or oversight
- Advanced troubleshooting and appliance repair
- Solve advanced WiFi/cable troubleshooting and TV set up
- Provide excellent documentation of troubleshooting and repair in homes, including pictures and notes every time
- Leave every interaction with homes, homeowners, guests and community members better than when you found it
- Comfortable working under pressure with shifting priorities; able to multitask and use creativity to solve immediate problems.
- Experience working with 3rd party vendors where appropriate, in a manner to optimize cost and outcomes for homeowners and guests. Identify and build partnerships with local vendors who exhibit excellence in client service.
