REPORTS TO: Vista General Manager Nick Ryan

HOURS: Mon – Fri. Start time 10:00am -6:30pm Sat – as needed per shipping requirements.

LUNCH: Flexible Lunch beginning at 2:30pm (*1 HR or 30 Minutes)

Del Rey Avocado packs California avocados grown from San Diego to San Luis Obispo County. With over 40 years’ experience running a quality packing house operation, we continue to be both farmers at heart and in practice.

DUTIES:

• Ability to determine if fruit passes and meets company’s quality standards.
• Unloading/Loading of trucks.
• Verifying that each shipment coincides with documentation.
• Prepares outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.
• Loading/Unloading of ripe rooms.
• Restacking pallets as needed.
• Follow QC protocol for all Customer specific outbound orders.
• Ability to ship and receive inbound transfers and Sales orders in Packout program.
• Maintains and assists in all and any necessary upkeep and warehouse maintenance.
• Clean Ripe Room Quarterly with help of crew & document clean ripe room
• Responsibly maintain and properly follow the necessary maintenance and care for all company equipment.
• Immediately report all damages to all company property or equipment to Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

• Ability to work in cold conditions – 40 degrees.
• Able to cooperate with others in a fast-paced team environment.
• Capable of following multiple instructions while consistently being attentive to work detail.
• Consistently operate equipment in a safe and effective manner that upholds all safety standards and protocols.
• Holds and maintains up to date forklift training and certification.
• You will need to know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic numbers.

POSITION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The position may require more than 40 hours, depending on the deadline targets. Work from Monday to Friday. You will be scheduled to work on Saturday or/and Sunday, and some holidays, based on time-sensitive work deadlines. Reliability and punctuality are mandatory. You should be able to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and some holiday as needed. During slow times may be asked to assist bagging line. Employees must be respectful in their behavior and appearance. You must observe and comply with all Company safety standards, personal hygiene, food sanitation, and security policies and practices.

When performing the tasks of this job, the employee is regularly in the warehouse environment at any time while walking or being in the warehouse employee is exposed to normal, seasonal climatic/ weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts while in the warehouse. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or particles in the air, dust, heat and cold. The noise level in the office is very quiet while in the warehouse the work environment is generally moderate to loud.

Specific vision skills required to perform daily job functions will include near vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
