The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving activities in the warehouse, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and coordinate all shipping and receiving activities within the warehouse.
- Supervise and guide warehouse associates to ensure operational goals are met.
- Train new team members on shipping/receiving procedures and forklift operations.
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, staging, and shipping of products.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and transport goods.
- Build pallets and perform pallet picks efficiently and accurately.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including reporting product damages or shortages.
- Secure shipments using shrink wrap or other methods as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of weights and shipped/received materials.
- Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space and proper stock rotation.
- Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Resolve shipment-related issues to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
- Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
- Assist in inventory management and cycle counts.
- Serve as the backup to warehouse supervisor or manager when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, with lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Forklift certification and experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, and data entry.
- Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Consistently punctual and reliable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.
