Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving activities in the warehouse, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. This role involves leading a small team, coordinating logistics, and serving as the main point of contact for shipment-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and coordinate all shipping and receiving activities within the warehouse.
• Supervise and guide warehouse associates to ensure operational goals are met.
• Train new team members on shipping/receiving procedures and forklift operations.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to management.
• Ensure timely and accurate receiving, staging, and shipping of products.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and transport goods.
• Build pallets and perform pallet picks efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, including reporting product damages or shortages.
• Secure shipments using shrink wrap or other methods as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of weights and shipped/received materials.
• Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space and proper stock rotation.
• Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Resolve shipment-related issues to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist in inventory management and cycle counts.
• Serve as the backup to warehouse supervisor or manager when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven experience in shipping and receiving, with lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Forklift certification and experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, and data entry.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Consistently punctual and reliable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.
