The Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patients, delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring the seamless operation of administrative tasks. This role necessitates a blend of administrative competencies and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Extend a warm welcome to patients and visitors, assisting them with the check-in and registration processes.
- Manage and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring precise scheduling and timely reminders.
- Maintain and update patient records with a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing inquiries effectively.
- Respond to phone calls and inquiries, providing relevant information regarding services and appointments.
- Execute general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry.
- Process patient payments, manage transactions, and issue receipts.
- Address patient concerns and resolve issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure an exemplary patient experience. This includes all front and back office duties depending on need of the day.
**Qualifications:**
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations with composure.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
