Food Service Manager
The DeLallo Italian Marketplace has been an innovator in retail Italian food for 75 years. As we continue to progress to provide the best experience for our current and new customers we will be embarking on opening a foodservice destination within our store. The general manager’s role will be part of the foundation for executing and managing this business within our retail location.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the finalization of the menu and layout of the foodservice department.
- Create and write job descriptions.
- Develop and implement a detailed training program for all stations and positions.
- Write and implement food safety policies and programs with DeLallo QC staff.
- Develop and implement operating procedures for ordering, labor scheduling, food prep and service.
- Staff scheduling and task station assignments for all hours of operation.
- Responsibility for ordering, inventory and reporting of operation.
- Report analysis and future planning according to trends.
- Management of all shifts and active participation in all aspects of the operation.
- Future menu development, promotion and marketing participation.
Candidate Characteristics
- Must excel at team building and leadership.
- Excellent communicator who takes responsibility.
- Detail focused and committed to consistency in relation to food quality and customer service.
- Goal driven.
Education, Experience and Guidelines
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Degree in Restaurant management from culinary institution or four year college preferred.
- Serve Safe Food Certification a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience as a foodservice manager.
- Proven track record in cost effective management of complete operation.
- Computer competency in POS software and Microsoft excel.
- Ability to do manual work efficiently and at a fast pace.
- Weekend work mandatory.
