What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Program Instructor position at Delaware County Intermediate Unit?
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for low-income children ages birth through five years old. It provides children with a developmentally appropriate early childhood education.
The position of Early Head Start Program Instructor was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising infants and toddlers within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Minimum requirements:
- Infant/Toddler CDA certificate
- Associate degree in ECE preferred
- CPR/First Aid certificate
- Experience with infants/toddlers desired
- Ability to function in a culturally diverse population
- Able to work within a team concept
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to frequently lift twenty pounds
- Basic computer skills
This is a 12 Month Position
Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:00am-3:00pm
