What are the responsibilities and job description for the GED Instructor position at Delaware Department of Correction?
The Delaware Department of Correction(DOC) is expanding the GED offerings at DOC Level IV facilities and will hire a contractual part-time instructor or instructors to provide the delivery of the GED(R) program at the institutions. The delivery calendar is 5 hours per week for a range of 14-18 weeks. The delivery will be done in the day, evening or possibly weekends at a rate of $37 per hour.
The instructor must possess a current Education Certification and have prison teaching experience.
The instructor must have a desire to increase the knowledge and skills of inmates in the course.
The instructor must have the desire to reduce the likelihood of recidivism of inmates in the course.
The instructor must clear a DOC security clearance and maintain it during the course delivered.
Prior GED successful instructional delivery is preferred.
