Position Overview
As an Engineering Coordinator, you will assist the Engineering Manager in coordinating project submittals, tracking production, communicating with contractors, and ensuring timely project execution. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of multitasking and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Create and manage submittal packages for projects.
- Review and approve submittal documents.
- Track and monitor project production timelines.
- Serve as a key contact for field supervisors regarding project information and supplier equipment.
- Provide direct communication with contractors, owners, and government officials (e.g., Corp of Engineers, NAVFAC) regarding elevator specifications.
- Coordinate and schedule project deliveries.
- Assist in designing elevator layouts for various applications.
- Release equipment to manufacturers for production.
- Prepare and submit specified information for government projects, when applicable.
- Review blueprints and drawings.
- Ensure thorough review of job scope and specifications prior to the submittal process.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of elevator-related codes (A17.1, A18.1, B20, ADA) as part of training.
- Compose and send submittals for approval, manage correspondence, and release equipment into production.
- Obtain and manage signed approvals for selections, site requirement, and equipment drawings from the appropriate parties
- Maintain and update project spreadsheets daily.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and Adobe
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma required; some college coursework is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Elevator knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend codes and government documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- 2D/3D drafting experience is a plus.
- Must meet basic attendance and punctuality requirements
- Effective communication with design teams, consultants, and architects.
- Computer Skills: Basic, on the job training, in-house programs, use Full Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word) and Adobe
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and drawings is a plus
- Proficiency in 2D drafting strongly desired
- Flexible and adaptable to varying work demands.
