What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at Delaware Nation?
The Human Resources Director is responsible to the Delaware Nation Tribal Administrator for the direction, coordination, and overall management of the Human Resources (HR) function. The Director must identify, plan, and implement strategic objectives for the HR Department. The Director is responsible for recruiting, employment, affirmative action, compensation benefits, labor relations, management training and development, as well as employee relations and communications. This responsibility includes ensuring compliance with all tribal, federal, and state regulations as they relate to the human resources function.
1. Degree(s) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Public or Business Administration, Organization Development or commensurate experience required.
2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Business Administration preferred and/or 4 years equivalency.
3. PHR/SPHR or THRP certification preferred or must show progress towards obtaining certification.
4. Must be able to manage time well and remain composed and organized in a very fluid environment that is at times deadline focused, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
5. Ability to effectively utilize appropriate software applications, such as MS Office and video conferencing.
6. Must have skills and the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, prepare comprehensive written reports, day-to-day communications, and effective public speaking.
