What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chiropractor position at Delaware NeuroRehab?
Busy neurorehabilitation clinic with a unique focus on Acquired Brain Injuries, including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and concussion, seeking a Chiropractor who is interested in and wants to significantly contribute to an expanding team invested in delivering excellent patient care. The Chiropractor must be able to provide services to adolescents and adults aged 18 and above and work in the outpatient setting. You will be working with a mixture of patients with diagnoses and treatments including but not limited to Concussion, TBI, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Headaches, Musculoskeletal Pain, Spasticity and Dystonia management, Botulinum toxin injections, and Baclofen Pump management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients for neuromusculoskeletal and spine related conditions that may benefit from chiropractic care and provide appropriate diagnosis with an Emphasis on Physical Therapy
- Understanding/knowledge of physiotherapy exercises and modalities for maximum benefit of patient care.
- Empathy and patience with patient progression
- Consult with patients by reviewing health and medical histories; questioning, observing, and examining patients; and reviewing any previous health documentation, as indicated
- Evaluate patients for neuromusculoskeletal and spine related conditions that may benefit from chiropractic care and provide appropriate diagnosis.
- Perform manual, drop and instrument assisted adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to address identified health issues and concerns, where necessary.
- Educate patients on the benefits of routine chiropractic care and how it may improve their quality of life. Develop and communicate a recommended course of treatment that is appropriate for each patient.
- Monitor patients progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes.
- Provide patient education on rehabilitation techniques, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, neuropsychologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address their concerns, provide updates, and offer emotional support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and progress notes.
- Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines regarding patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks, such as billing and coding, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stay current with advancements in neuro-rehabilitation and related healthcare practices through continuing education, professional conferences, and self-directed learning.
Pay: $/85,000-90,000yr with additional compensation (based on experience and background)
