Casual Bartender
Location: Aboard Vessels out of Cape May, NJ & Lewes, DE
Highest Pay Rate: $5.62 per hour (plus gratuities)
This is a part-time position with no guaranteed minimum number of hours or assignments.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparation and service of various beverage items, including beer, wine, and spirits, using standardized recipes and guidelines.
- Ensuring all guests ordering and/or receiving alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years old by checking approved forms of identification.
- Operation of a point-of-sale cash register, accurately recording all sales, collecting cash and/or credit card payments, and making change on cash sales as needed.
- Receiving, stocking, and maintaining adequate beverage supplies in accordance with established par stock levels.
- Maintenance of clean and sanitary conditions for all bar areas and equipment.
- Correct, appropriate, and safe use of bar utensils and equipment.
- Adherence to established safety practices while performing duties to protect self, co-workers, and the public from injury and/or illness.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to operate a cash register and make correct change.
- General knowledge of bar/beverage preparation and presentation.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices for foodservice.
- Ability to keep records and maintain inventory and supplies at established par levels.
- Effective communication skills with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Occasional lifting and/or carrying of up to 160 pounds.

Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certificates:
Responsible Alcoholic Service certification required: ABC if working in Delaware / 'TIPS' or equivalent if working in New Jersey or aboard vessels
Requirements:
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a bartender required.
Additional Requirements:
- Background check and pre-employment drug test.

- Compliance with established dress and jewelry code while on duty.
- Availability to work irregular hours and adapt to variable workloads and tempos.
