Basic Purpose of Position :

Provides administrative support to Manager, E-Z Pass Technology & Toll Analysis and Principals of the Finance Department. Assist with the analysis, reconciliation, forecasting and reporting of budget vs actuals, E-ZPass traffic and revenue, and other analyses involving electronic toll activity, including collections, violations, statistical reports and analyses for checks and balances with other agencies, customer service centers and internal DRPA departments.

On occasion, assist in gathering financial documentation for audit requests, inputting data in excel and various software platforms, and creating ad hoc reports for management, internal departments, the Board, banks, and government agencies, with the goal of enhancing transparency and accountability in financial transactions. Additionally, the role supports the continuous improvement of financial processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

DESCRIPTION OF TASK

Coordinate collaboration with E-Z Pass Technology & Toll Analysis department regarding Revenue Reporting, E-ZPass Credits, and Digital Video Audit System reviews. Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Assist with the daily entry and monthly reconciliation of Permits, Escorts and Credit Card transactions from the four DRPA Bridges.

Assist with the entry and reconciliation of E-ZPass Walt Whitman mail-in pledge forms.

Coordinate with the DRPA Revenue Operations Department regarding NJ E-ZPass Senior discount issues.

Assist with the reconciliation of NJ E-ZPass Bank Wires regarding discount plans and customer credits.

Assist DRPA Public Safety and Court Liaison with violation account and total violation amounts owed upon request.

Report on Toll and Surveillance equipment performance and the need for maintenance or repairs and notify Management.

Evaluate or correct DRPA E-ZPass Violation images that have been rejected by NJ E-ZPass back-office using the Image Re-Review Software.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned to support all functions in the Finance Division, including but not limited to tracking E-ZPass accruals, updating revenue schedules, inputting journal entries, account reconciliations and helping with the year-end audit.

EDUCATION / TRAINING

Required :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Associates degree  OR Certificate in Accounting / Finance OR 2 or more years of experience working in an accounting / finance department for a mid-sized company.
  • 0-1 years’ experience using accounting software.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to GAAP.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word for preparing memos, letters, reports etc., Excel for creating tables, formatting data and using basic formulas, and PowerPoint.

Desired :

Minimum of a year’s experience using ERP accounting software to make journal entries, payments, receivables and or run reports.

  • 0-1 years’ experience using SAP ECC or S4 Hana.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience working for a government entity.
  • Prior experience with video surveillance equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
