General Description of the Position
This position is to act as the primary Office of Sponsored Programs financial point of contact for proposal and grant award financial matters. This position will work closely with the Director of Sponsored Programs.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Act as the primary contact for all financial matters on pre-award budget development and post award expenditure approvals.
- Work closely with the Office of Accounts Payable and Restricted Funds Accounting to assist pre and post-award financial compliance.
- Work with faculty on pre-award submission and compliance.
- Use the Universities accounting system to access grant award information as needed.
- Monitor and keep current with government regulations regarding contract and grant accounting specifically OMB 2 CFR 200 Super Circular, A-133 single audit and the governmental accounting principles such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Able to provide interpretation and application of all governmental regulations and accounting principles to principle investigator's and staff as needed.
- Work with other staff on proposal and application submissions.
- Reviews financial expenditures and budget changes to ensure adequate documentation and compliance with all federal, state and agency regulations and policies and procedures.
