Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Scheduling:
- Lead and manage the company’s daily operational activities with a hands-on approach.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules to ensure timely execution.
- Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to ensure resource availability and project alignment.
- Monitor job progress and make real-time adjustments to minimize downtime and delays.
- Team Coordination & Leadership:
- Act as the central point of contact between field operations, project managers, and leadership.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments.
- Work with superintendents and foremen to ensure labor, equipment, and materials are effectively utilized.
- Continuously evaluate operational processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive performance metrics, KPIs, and cost control initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance and estimating teams to ensure project budgets and margins are maintained.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
- Address and resolve client concerns or escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Support business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying upselling opportunities.
- Work closely with HR to identify staffing needs, assist in hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Address employee performance, disciplinary, and morale issues professionally and confidentially.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and team collaboration.
- 7 years of experience in operations or construction management, preferably in paving or heavy civil industries.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, logistics, and project coordination.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP/project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Knowledge of HR practices and personnel management preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
