Delaware Valley Residential Care is currently seeking a Cognitive Therapist to meet the ever-changing social and therapeutic needs our program participants.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, Lead and facilitate team activities both in house and on outings
- Maximize residents' participation in groups and activities
- Counsels and encourages patients to develop leisure activities
- identify, address, de-escalate resident behaviors as necessary
- Compose Tally sheets, progress/service notes and all other necessary documents
- Prepares progress charts and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of treatment team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, or a closely related Human Services field, required
- 3 years of work experience working in the mental health field, preferred
- Ability to lead both group and 1:1 sessions
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and promote a positive environment for both team members and participants
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm in tense and high-pressure situations
- Proven track record of timeliness and accountability
